MAKE YOUR OWN EASY VEGEMITE SCROLLS
There are only three ingredients in this recipe, and after making this, you will wonder why you ever bought them!
Serve these delightful morsels with a few sticks of celery or other vegetables to make them a healthier option.
These taste similar to the ones you can buy in the shop, but who doesn't like food better if it is cooked at home, and especially if your children help to make it!
I, unfortunately, ate the whole lot in one hit at lunch time, and could not eat dinner - they were just so yummy and moreish that I could not stop!
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 6 servings
1 sheet puff pastry, defrosted
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Spread the Vegemite evenly all over the sheet of puff pastry.
Sprinkle the grated cheese all over the Vegemite. I used about 1/2 -3/4 of a cup of the cheese, depending on how cheesy you like it.
Roll up the pastry to form a log shape.
Cut the pastry into slices of approximately 2 cm wide.
Put some baking paper on a tray and place Swirls on the baking tray. I also added a small strip of cheese on top of each, however this is optional.
Bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and pastry is cooked. Some of the cheese will ooze out and go crispy if you bake for the full 15 minutes.
Eat, or rather, should I say, share!
These delicious morsels can be eaten hot, or also at room temperature.
